Chased and enamelled metalware are still abundantly produced by Kashmiri craftsman and are encountered in handicraft and curio shops in All Indian cities and even modest towns. Such an old and famously around piece is the Samovar.
Crafted in close with its historical counterparts, the samovar is a traditional Kashmiri kettle used to brew, boil and serve Kashmiri salted tea (Noon Chai) and kahwa. Inside a samovar, there is a fire-container in which charcoal and live coals are placed. A beverage of leisure is a serious business after all!
